where the cats play

Cattery started the way the best nights do. a few friends, a good room, and no real plan to behave. it's the third room in the fat cat family, from the same makati crew behind fat cat and el gato. but this one was built for the music: a small, warm listening room one flight below el gato in makati central square.

the idea is borrowed from npr's tiny desk: pull the music in close, kill the distance between the act and the crowd, and let a small room do what big ones can't. serious cocktails, live sets most nights, and the kind of hush that makes you actually listen.

A band mid-set at Cattery — singer and guitarists lit warm against the maneki-neko figurine shelf, a packed room watching up close
35 seats, no bad ones no cover, one-drink minimum open mic every wednesday

the shelf remembers everyone

look past the drum kit and you'll find it: maneki-neko, alien toys, half a thrift store of small strange things. every act that plays leaves something behind, so the room quietly keeps a piece of each night that happened here.

some nights it's a full band. others it's stand-up, trivia, or a rockeoke that gets gloriously out of hand. the gear is ours and it's yours. borrow a guitar, grab the mic, take the tiny desk for a spin.

Cattery's guest-note board — polaroids of cats and performers pinned among handwritten post-its
The note-covered alcove beside Cattery's stained-glass black-cat window, glowing amber and green
Two tall Cattery cocktails, one green and one orange over ice, on a wood table below the glowing Cattery sign
a room that grows every time someone plays.
